NIMC is Set to Launch Online Registration Portal for NIN Aspirants

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in Nigeria has come under fire concerning the registration of the National Identity Number due to extortion on some of shifty agents of the commission (NIN). This has left the NIMC board no other option than to launch an online registration portal for NIN aspirants.

This Issue has left many Nigerians feeling unhappy and hopeless. However, there is now a light at the end of the tunnel as the NIMC has said there are plans to roll out a refined self-service portal which will enhance convenience and efficiency in the registration process.

Announcing the Online Registration Portal For NIN Aspirants

This was made known by the Director-General of the NIMC, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote during a press conference in Abuja. Coker-Odusote said the self-service platform will allow Nigerians to apply for NINs without travelling long distances and without avoiding queues or unscrupulous agents. 

This is just one of many of the commission’s initiatives that are geared towards improving service delivery and facilitating the changeover of identity cards to a digitized one. Every Nigerian is to be given the unique identification number.
